China Beach is For Real Movie Lover: from CANISTEO, NY US -- March, 5, 2016

I have always loved China Beach and happy that I can have it in my home. Expect some minor flaws and 1 small scene skip. None of it major. It is due to the age of the originals and NOT those reproducing it. Still, this tells the story of men and women in Nam like never told before it's time...or since. The extra's dvd's with the commentaries are a bit repetitive which I didn't purchase the set for that anyway. I simply wanted China Beach. If you don't understand what PTSD is you will after this. If you could never understand how intense relationships could get with life and death on the line every second of every day you will after this. Actually, the one character who touched me most was actor Jeff Kober's. He played 19 year old Dodger. China goes through the characters doing their war stints and how they are when they return home. Even nurses didn't come out unscathed. Nobody does in war. But this series had the guts to show that. I wish for one thing differently about it. Although they had Vietnam Vets as authenticators there were no commentaries by any vets other than the nurses. Having it from the guys as well would have rounded this whole set off perfectly. All in all the perfect series about Vietnam hands down with flaws and all.
