3 stars out of 5 -- Kid-friendly with some neat visuals.

Rating: 1.5/4 -- It's a little shocking how leaden the jokes are in this movie. Full Review
Chicago Sun-Times
May 8, 2014
Rating: 1.5/4 -- It's short on jokes and hampered by unmemorable musical numbers (including one about building a boat), and the film's niceness can't overcome the dopey tedium. Full Review
Globe and Mail
May 9, 2014
Rating: .5/5 -- In the end when I walked out I felt like I just watched a failed Broadway musical that got turned into a failed animated movie that no one else should have to suffer through. Full Review
Punch Drunk Critics

Rating: 3/5 -- Despite substandard animation, this brightly coloured sequel has a strong enough sense of both its story and characters to hold the audience's attention. Full Review

Product Description:

GLEE star Lea Michele slips on the ruby slippers for this animated 3D musical update of THE WIZARD OF OZ, directed by Daniel St. Pierre and written by Adam Balsam, Randi Barnes, and Barry Glasser. Kansas has been devastated by tornadoes. Returning home to find the farm in ruins, young Dorothy is transported back to Oz, and embarks on a quest to save her old friends the Lion (Jim Belushi), the Scarecrow (Dan Aykroyd), and the Tin Man (Kelsey Grammer). Oliver Platt, Hugh Dancy, Megan Hilty, and Martin Short also contribute voices for an epic fantasy featuring music by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance.
