Back in the late 1950s and early 1960s, British artists routinely covered American hits for the UK market, often, with great success, although instances of US acts covering home-grown UK hits were virtually unknown at that time. This thoroughly unlikely compilation presents 31 rare examples of British hits being covered by US artists. Disc 1 featuring the American cover and disc 2 comprising the original UK versions. Featuring artists as disparate as: Connie Francis, Andy Williams, Joni James, The Ventures, Robin Luke, Ersel Hickey, The Kalin Twins, Margie Singleton and Bobby Vinton covering UK hits by: Cliff Richard, Anthony Newley, Shirley Bassey, Bert Weedon, Marty Wilde, Adam Faith, Joe Brown, Helen Shapiro and Eden Kane. Several of these US cover version are almost unfeasibly obscure and have never previously appeared on CD.
