With all the emphasis on his work with The Raiders, many either have forgotten or were not aware that Mark Lindsay had several fine solo chart entries under his own name , or assume that "Arizona" was his only Top 40 chart hit. And up until this package came along, finding the solo Linsday hits on CD was almost impossible.

I was delighted that Collectables put these two albums together on one CD. By doing this, they have given us a superb "Best of" on the solo hits of Mark Lindsay. Just in case you didn't kmow what the hits were, they were: "Arizona" , "Miss America", "Silverbird", "And The Grass Don't Pay No Mind" .
I used to do "Artists Spotlights" on an old radio show of mine, and when I did The Raiders , I ALWAYS included the solo Lindsay hits along with that of the group. I was suprised when Lindsay faded fromn the music scene in the mid 70s, I always felt he had demonstrated his flexablity as a vocalist on his quality solo material the he could have continued thru the 70s as a solid solo star. I'm grateful that his solo hits are now on CD , and can sit right beside my Raiders compilation on my shelf with pride. And , with the purchasing of this CD, my Raiders library of hits are complete.
If you've never heard any of the solo Lindsay, although his work on the mostly rockin' Raiders is second to none, his solo work allowed him to show other surprising aspects of his abilty as a vocalist. And , this CD is manufactured for Collectables by the label that originally put the original LPs out, Columbia, so you know the "source tapes" are right from tbe original sources used for the original LPs. Enjoy !
