Description by OLDIES.com:
Sing, Sinner, Sing is based on the real-life love affair between tobacco millionaire Smith Reynolds and cabaret singer Libby Holman that scandalized the 1930s. Actress Leila Hyams is stunning and convincing in the role of Lela. Academy Award winner Paul Lukas (Watch On The Rhine,1943) appeared in many fine films including The Lady Vanishes, (1938) and The Casino Murder Case (1935), but is probably best remembered as Professor Aronnax in Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954).

Movie Lovers' Ratings & Reviews:
Based on 92 ratings.
This was one of the first films to adapt the
bizarre Libby Holman/Smith Reynolds murder/
suicide? to the screen but because it was still
going on in the courts the film had to invent
it's own ending.
Leila Hyams played songbird Lela Larson who
marries alcoholic millionaire playboy, Ted
Rendon (Don Dillaway) to escape the unwanted
attentions of crooked manager (Paul Lukas)
who threatens to get revenge because she
walked out on him. Marriage proves disastrous
as Ted refuses to give up his party ways.
There is a wild party, a shooting and you
also get to see Ruth Donnelly lead a singing
chorus line - worth seeing for that alone.
An excellent film with name stars, worthy of
a big studio.
