Rating: 2/5 -- This biopic of property magnate and pornographer Paul Raymond is mildly entertaining at times and does raise a few cheap chuckles, but it's as shallow as a Soho puddle after a spring shower. Full Review

A puzzlingly misconceived biopic: a tasteful, subdued movie about a man who was as tasteless and unsubdued as they come. Full Review

Double-billing comic and tragic tones, the biopic "The Look of Love" follows a father and a daughter over three decades in London's swinging Soho. Full Review

The Look of Love is deserving of a look, but don't be surprised if there aren't more than a few similarities between other tales told before. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/4 -- Coogan turns in a fine dramatic performance in a role that calls for as much actual acting as wisecracking. Full Review

Rating: 4/5 -- It's a cracking true story and the cast, including an impossibly free-spirited and leggy Tamsin Egerton, are outstanding but beneath the smart one-liners, frustratingly little is laid bare. Full Review

Product Description:

Director Michael Winterbottom (THE KILLER INSIDE ME, THE TRIP) reunites with 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE star Steve Coogan to tell the sordid tale of English entrepreneur and real-estate developer Paul Raymond (Coogan), who earned the nickname "The King of Soho" after opening London's first strip club in 1958. But just as Raymond begins to challenge British sexual mores, some accuse him of practicing the same type of hypocrisy that he purported to rail against in the public eye. Stephen Fry, Imogen Poots, and Anna Friel co-star in this biographical period drama scripted by Matt Greenhalgh (CONTROL, NOWHERE BOY).
