Entertainment Reviews:
Description by OLDIES.com:
Evelyn Brent has a fine comedic role in this whodunit as the attractive secretary whose overt romantic clues are totally invisible to her boss, the ace sleuth.
Silent film star Reginald Denny transitioned to character roles with the arrival of sound. His long distinguished career included supporting roles in many fine films including Rebecca (1940), Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948) and Around The World In 80 Days (1956).

This is the first time I've seen a huge mistake on the cover of a dvd-the starring role is played by Inez Courtney-Evelyn Brent plays a very minor part. (She is not "the attractive secretary whose overt romantic clues are totally invisible to her boss"--that role is the lead, played by Inez.) There is a lot of talking, talking, and talking in this film-a half-hour into this "whodunnit" had this viewer pining for a silent film! Interesting only as a period piece.( with scratchy sound quality.) Inez Courtney is the dynamic star of this yawnfest-but unless you are an Inez fan , "It Couldn't Have Happened" shouldn't have!
