Description by OLDIES.com:
Racing to the scene of a fire, insurance appraiser Bill Farnsworth is run off the road and into a lamppost by reckless young party girl, Betty Marshall. Light-hearted Betty stops laughing when Bill takes off in her car with Wag, her uncle's dog, still inside. When Bill finally gets to the site of the blaze, Wag runs straight into the burning building, and Bill becomes a well-publicized hero when he rescues the mutt. His heroics gain him entry into Betty's heart and her uncle's estate. Betty's uncle, business tycoon R. A. Rawson, is secretly involved in a plot to defraud an insurance company out of a million dollars by torching his own warehouse. As Bill slowly uncovers the plot, he is torn between his love for Rawson's niece and his public duty to stop the arson before it happens. His brief indecision results in Betty getting trapped in a blazing inferno.
The Fire Trap stars handsome leading man, Norman Foster, who was a writer and director as well as an actor from the early 1930s to the mid-70s. He is best known for directing several Charlie Chan and Mr. Moto movies, as well as such bona fide classics as Journey Into Fear (1943) and Kiss the Blood Off My Hands (1948). Supporting actor, Sidney Blackmer, a hard working actor of stage, screen and TV, had the unique fortune of playing Teddy Roosevelt in seven different features. One of his last film appearances was in the role of the coven leader in Roman Polanski's 1968 horror classic, Rosemary's Baby.
