Description by OLDIES.com:
Ricardo Cortez is best remembered as Detective Sam Spade in the 1931 version of The Maltese Falcon (aka Dangerous Female). Joan Woodbury was a hard working B-movie regular in the '30s and '40s, best remembered as the star of the Columbia serial Brenda Starr, Reporter. Prolific director Phil Rosen helmed dozens of pictures in every genre, his most well known being Spooks Run Wild (1941) with Bela Lugosi, as well as nine Charlie Chan mysteries shot between 1944 and 1946.

If you;re looking for a Who Did it kind of movie that goes one step further. You may not have trouble figuering out Who Did it but you'll never gues how it was done. A fun film, a step abouty many of this type.
"I Killed That Man" is a very enjoyable little mystery from Monogram that could easily have been a Sidney Tolar Charlie Chan flick.
The suave Ricardo Cortez, who in fact appeared in "Charlie Chan in Reno" is the lead, playing a district attorney who has to solve a murder committed in the prison's deathhouse by a poison dart. Joan Woodbury, herself to later appear in a Chan movie, smokes up the screen as Cortez's squeeze, a newspaper reporter. This movie has a lot to recommend it and is a good mystery to boot.
