As a fan of Japanese sci-fi and kaiju movies, i thought i'd give this one a try. I picked it up for 5 bucks and it sat on a shelf for about a year.
I finally popped it in one day when i was working on a project. I wasn't expecting much more than background noise.
I was surprised to find that it not only held my attention but was a fun watch.
It has all the prerequisites for 50's Japanesse sci-fi: cheesy effects, plucky children and rubbery monsters.
the downside? Man, the hero's costume sucked. Sucked bad. maybe it's my own issues, but his 'package' was a featured a bit too prominently.

Recommended for fans of the genre.
