Product Description:

EU collection. Jewish humor has been an integral part of American show business since the dawn of vaudeville and it hit something of a sales peak during the early 1960s thanks to Allan Sherman. The master of parody, presented here are his first two albums, the first of which My Son The Folk Singer was by November 1962 described as the fastest selling LP in American music industry history. According to it's label, Warner Brothers, the disc had passed 300,000 units in just it's first three weeks on sale and was well over the million copies by December 1st. The second album My Son The Celebrity was also a runaway success and not long after entering the charts it also reached #1. Sadly by 1969 Allan Sherman was largely forgotten but the two albums on this excellent and hilarious set serve as a permanent reminder of his genius.
