The twelfth season in the series takes place in the Pearl Islands off the hazardous coast of Panama. The tribes are divided four ways, according to age and gender - the Viveros (young men), La Mina (older men), Bayoneta (young women), and Casaya (older women). - creating a game that is equal parts men vs. women as it is wisdom vs. youth.
