A bunch of building at this stage. At some point, I want to live in the world, not watch it being put together. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- The magical aspects and visuals are appealing, but the film is clunky and awkward. Fans of the Potter Universe will no doubt go to see it but shouldn't expect it to be as inviting as the first film. Full Review

Rating: 3/10 -- Crimes of Grindelwald is a confusing and frustrating waste of talent and story. The first big misfire for the Harry Potter franchise. Full Review

Rating: 1.75/5 -- The Crimes of Grindelwald is visually outstanding, but its convoluted storytelling, uninspired performances, and inability to make the events of this sequel seem relevant causes it to feel like a torturous 134-minute exposure to a Caterwauling Charm. Full Review

Description by OLDIES.com:

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world. (Note: No longer includes digital copy.)
