Music Lovers' Ratings & Reviews:

James Brown owes a lot to Hank Ballard! They recorded for King Records in the 1950's and both starred in groups and although James Brown became the Godfather Of Soul, Hank Ballard is responsible for the greatest dance in the 20th century - The Twist! In 1960, Chubby Checker recorded the song and made it a million seller twice! But Hank was more than the Twist for he symbolized a style of singing that was a cross between gospel and soul! The hits were never ending like Work With Me Annie, Finger Poppin Time, Let's Go, Let's Go Let's Go and it's follow up and my favorite Let's go again! Getting back to James Brown, his hit, Try Me, borrows a lot from Hank's Teardrops On Your Letter! Not only did Hank inspire James but the whole world as well!
