Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 3.5/5 --
While there's intrigue a-plenty and a compelling lead performance by Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the titular Edward Snowden, the director never quite manages to amp the energy up to the level necessary to match reality.

The Maine Edge
There are excellent turns by Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson as MacAskill, and Lakeith Stanfield, his usual excellent, low-key self as a fellow surveillance geek who shares Snowden’s misgivings.
Boston Globe
SNOWDEN is a superbly crafted, engrossing film that, while making no bones about admiring the central character’s actions and motivations, doesn’t go to visual or psychological extremes to make its case.
Washington Post
Gordon-Levitt embodies this complex, decidedly private and controversial public figure seamlessly.
