Rating: 4.5/5 -- It's clear Eisener has an eye for the schlock genre and, by letting his imagination run wild, Hobo with a Shotgun emerges as a sure-to-be perennial, shockingly violent and wonderfully clever yet purposely screwball modern-day vigilante thriller. Full Review

4 stars out of 5 -- [T]his is Hauer's film and he grabs it two-handed.

Rating: 1.9/5 -- I'm happy to see Hauer is still blowing folks away but I really do hope that the rest of the actors in this film never, ever work in front of the camera again. Full Review

Some may argue that Hobo with a Shotgun encapsulates a joke worn thin, but the B-movie energy that pulses through the veins of this beast is not to be denied. Full Review

Rating: 4/5 -- Provides its target audience with exactly what they want while still managing to be aware of just how silly it all is.

Karim Hussain's cinematography has an artisanal graininess; the opening sequence of the carefree hobo riding a freight is actually quite lovely, like something lifted from a Hal Ashby film.
New York Times
May 6, 2011
Rating: 1/5 -- It stomps over any notions of good taste and credibility after roughly five minutes. Full Review

Product Description:

A hobo (Rutger Hauer) blows into a lawless town, arms himself with a shotgun, and decides to take down a ruthless crime boss in this violent, neo-exploitation throwback that began as a "fake" trailer for the "Grindhouse Trailer" competition at the 2007 South by Southwest Film Festival.
