Product Description:

During the Depression, work is scarce for everyone, and virtually nonexistent for African-Americans. The only truly readily available job was as a porter for the Pullman Rail Company, which meant work for a third of what white employees made, and being addressed only as "George," after George Pullman, who was the first person to employ freed slaves. Philip Randolph, a black journalist, makes it his mission to help these forgotten workers, and forges ahead to form the first black union in America. Robert Townsend directs this stirring civil rights drama, which originally aired on Showtime.
