First off, you can't fault the line-up; all 5 original members plus early recruit Bruce Johnston, who, on Independence Day 1981, got together for a beautifully laid back and hugely enjoyable show. While not overflowing with challenging compositions and experimental new styles, this made for a damned decent 4th July party in the heart of the USA's capital city in the blazing sunshine.
