Product Description:
Argentine director Alberto Lecchi's fictional account of revolution in Latin America explores the role that humor can play in the lives of those struggling under right-wing dictators. Arcibel Alegria (Dario Grandinetti) is a newspaper columnist in the fictional country of Miranda. After writing an article that is interpreted as an attack on the government, Arcibel is imprisoned for several decades. In jail, he befriends several people, but one by one they die or are set free. Now sharing a cell with a young man named Pablo (Diego Torres), Arcibel turns his attention to making the young man a star revolutionary. When Pablo escapes the prison, a revolution is born of the plan in Arcibel's mind.
