Through Ellsworth, Wichita, Dodge City and Tombstone, Wyatt's reputation as a just and formidable marshal grew, culminating in a storied gunfight that would seal his legend.

In 1955, 3 adult Westerns were to appear on television screens and prove successful to American audiences - Gunsmoke, Cheyenne and The Life and Legend Of Wyatt Earp! The latter starred Hugh O' Brien and the show lasted for six seasons! The program was so popular during its run that it was never out of the top ten in the ratings and allowed other Westerns like Maverick and Bronco to trail the same path afterwards! The show, based on a true character, gave its star Hugh O' Brien plenty of research to truly become his signature role for the rest of his life! Sadly, Hugh passed away in 2016, at the age of 91, yet his portrayal of Wyatt Earp will be engrained in our memories forever!
