This box set brings together four feature films on the theme of man's best friend, produced between 1959 and 2008. It opens with Donald Crisp and Theodore Bikel in A DOG OF FLANDERS, about a young boy and his grandfather who struggle against the wiles of poverty and unhappiness until a wounded dog named Patrasche enters their life. A DOG'S TALE 003) stars Gordon Jump (WKRP) and Anne Lockhart, in the story of a boy whose life is turned inside out when he gets transformed into a canine, courtesy of a wish he makes. FINN ON THE FLY (2008) stars Ryan Belleville and Ana Gasteyer in the story of a dog named Finn who undergoes an accidental transformation into a man upon ingesting a secret formula in a neighborhood laboratory. Finally, 1972's classic SOUNDER stars Cicely Tyson and Paul Winfield in the Depression Era-tale of a young African American boy who bonds with his dog, while his family endures hardships following the father's arrest for stealing food.
