Patricia Heaton stars as a television reporter assigned to find a young child who wrote a letter to Santa Claus wishing to leave the world so he will no longer be a burden to his divorcing parents. At the same time, the small community has cancelled the annual Christmas pageant, causing much strife. With the help of Max (Peter Falk), everyone has new hope in the magic of the holiday season.
