From the early 1960's and into the 1970's, Stax Recording Studio established itself as the heart of Soul music and gave birth to many Memphis music legends. It became the very model of the greatness all races can create when working together.

Performances by Sam Moore, Carla Thomas, Memphis Horns, Phil Upchurch, Eddie Floyd, Booker T & the M.G.'s with 20 tracks including "Soul Man." "Baby Let Me Be Good To You," "Stand By Me" and "Green Onions."

The Stax record label is legendary for releasing albums by the most significant and influential soul musicians of the late 1960's. Founded in the capital of soul music, Memphis, Tennessee, in 1959, Stax Records went on to record classics by such legends as Sam Moore, Carla Thomas, and Eddie Floyd. BACK TO STAX is a collection of live performances from the best of these artists. Along with the aforementioned, Phil Upchurch, Memphis Horns, and Booker T and the MG's are also featured at their spirited best.
