As the Korean War winds down, Sgt. Briscoe (Kirk Douglas) and his men (Nick Adams and Robert Walker, Jr.) capture an enemy pilot (Enrique Magalona) who's just bombed a hospital and school. Ordered to execute the soldier, the three Americans come into conflict over the difference between killing a man in combat and shooting an unarmed prisoner of war.
