Entertainment Reviews:
It's a film that starts in a nasty place and gets progressively worse throughout its 137-minute running time. This project is way below the talents of people like Washington and Fuqua.

Rating: 7.5/10 --
In his 30 year film career, Denzel Washington has never made a sequel. In Robert McCall, we finally have a character that demands one.

The Hollywood Outsider
3 stars out of 5 -- [T]his is a solidly acceptable star vehicle with more than enough righteous vengeance for an evening of classy thrills.

Total Film

Product Description:
Based on the 1980s crime series of the same name, THE EQUALIZER stars Denzel Washington as Robert McCall, a former Black Ops commando who faked his own death in hopes of living out a quiet life in Boston. However, when he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to save a young girl named Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), he finds his thirst for justice reawakened after coming face-to-face with a syndicate of brutal Russian gangsters. Afterwards, McCall becomes the go-to man when the helpless require the kind of vengeance they would never find without his skills.
